How this generation came about, what made it different and how the selected touring fits into the family.

E34 produced one of ALPINA's most diverse B10 families: naturally aspirated B10 3.5/1, all-wheel-drive B10 3.0, V8 B10 4.0/4.6 and the celebrated B10 Bi-Turbo. Engine type, donor model and production dates differ fundamentally between them.

Sedan was the core body; selected all-wheel-drive and V8 derivatives were also built as Touring. The archive publishes separate acceleration and top-speed figures for saloon and Touring, so body values must not be copied even when the engine is shared.

B10 Bi-Turbo's twin-turbo inline-six must not be conflated with later BMW factory turbo systems or V8 B10 cars. Low production and modern replicas make the ALPINA type number and original base vehicle especially important.
