NA5 iX3 is the first series-production Neue Klasse model and entered production at BMW's new Debrecen plant. It introduces sixth-generation eDrive with cylindrical cells, 800-volt electrical architecture and a new electronics structure built around four high-performance control computers.
The first announced derivative, iX3 50 xDrive, uses two motors and all-wheel drive; BMW also confirmed that further versions, including a single-motor rear-drive model, would follow. Launch output, range and charging claims vary between WLTP and market-specific estimates and must not be combined.
NA5 is a clean generation break from the China-built G08. Its Panoramic iDrive, Heart of Joy dynamics computer, bidirectional-capable charging architecture and Gen6 battery need separate service and specification records from every earlier iX3.
