E65/E66 revived the B7 badge for a 7 Series-based ALPINA. Its V8 used a mechanically driven radial/centrifugal supercharger and appeared in standard- and long-wheelbase bodies, distinct from BMW's naturally aspirated 745i/750i base specifications.
Pre-update and later base cars, short E65 and long E66, and regional naming require date-scoped records. The supercharged engine, Switch-Tronic calibration, wheels, brakes and aero define the derivative beyond decorative equipment.
This B7 is not related technically to the earlier B7 Turbo E12/E24 despite the badge. North American and European ratings use different units and equipment baselines.
