F10 M5 moved from the S85 V10 to the S63 twin-turbo V8, gaining far more low-speed torque and improved consumption while retaining rear-wheel drive. Most markets used a seven-speed M DCT; North America uniquely offered a six-speed manual for part of the cycle.
The Competition Package increased output and revised steering, differential, suspension and exhaust calibration. The 30 Jahre M5 and later Competition Edition raised output further in limited runs, so they need independent production and technical scope rather than a generic edition tag.
There was no series F10-generation M5 Touring. Model-year, catalyst and rating differences remain market-specific, and performance numbers should state transmission because launch-control DCT figures do not describe the manual car.
